Resolutions

New Year’s Resolutions:

In researching Happy Dog Phoenix,
I learned a lot about dogs and here’s what I resolve to do “dog-wise’’ in 2012:

  1. Make sure her dog tag info is easily read and accurate. Truth be told, the tag engraving is wearing off –it’s time for a replacement stat.
  2. Get out more with her. There’s a lot more places that look kindly to dogs. Here’s a list.
  3.  Respect her past: She’s hardwired to be a scavenger. Dogs evolved into dogs from wolves because of their scavenger skills. Is it any wonder any unprotected garbage can doesn’t stand a chance with her?

    4. Take a look at Fido’s diet…are we feeding him table scraps and human food? Dogs’ diets are more delicate than we realize…and they change as a dog grows older (some do poorer with the corn-based, bone and animal by products processed foods according to the guy at PetSmart last week).

    5. Examine Fi-Fi at least quarterly for lumps and bumps…including eyes and ears for new problems…

    6. Reflect a bit now and then about how dogs love and respect us…and what a wonderful world we would have if we could give more unconditional love and friendship to each other…
