Feb. 16-17 Wags & Kisses Flyball12:00 am – 5:00 pm
Head on out to west Chandler’s Nozomi Park this weekend for a fun event for some dogs who can really fly.
Flyball, that is.
Chandler’s Blazin’ K9s are hosting the fourth annual Wags & Kisses flyball tournament Saturday and Sunday. The tournament will feature 26 racing teams representing 12 clubs from throughout Arizona, California and New Mexico. There are 75 races on the schedule for Saturday and 72 more Sunday.

Feb. 23 — PAC911 Adopt-a-thon10:00 am – 3:00 pm
PACC911 conducts upwards of a dozen outdoor adoption events throughout the Valley each year.
Depending on the location and size of the venue, there can be hundreds of healthy and adoptable dogs, cats, critters, and horses from up to fifty rescue group partners at one time, all in a fun and stress-free setting.
All pets in attendance are spayed, neutered and vaccinated. Our rescue partners know their pets’ personalities and act as a matchmaker to help you make the best choice for your circumstances.

Run with your dog; walk with your dog — Join us for this second annual dog-friendly Tempe event!
We’re raising funds for local animal welfare groups and supporting active, healthy lifestyles in the process.

Feb. 24 — Dog Fitness Hike1:30 pm – 2:30 pm
Tails on Trails in Usery Park in East Mesa will provide the opportunity to meet other dog hikers, learn safe hiking practices and dog trail etiquette.
The fun, 3-mile hike along the Blevins Trail is great for experienced hiker dogs.
Please bring a short non-extendable leash, a small cleanup bag, and water for you and your dog. One dog per hiker, please. Note: A “Beginners Level” Dog Fitness Hike is also offered each month for those who feel they need the basics before advancing to this level. Location: Trail Staging Area.

March 16 – Buttercup’s B-day!9:00 am – 4:00 pm
Come celebrate the life and birthday of Buttercup, the beloved Golden Retriever, at Schnepf Farms, in Queen Creek, east of Phoenix.
For this free event, your dog is welcome on the hayrides, train rides and special leash-free areas!
It’s a special day to celebrate Buttercup, a wonderful farm dog, and some time with your own dog.

March 17 –Dogs and Baseball1:00 pm – 2:00 pm
Two of Arizona’s favorite pastimes — spring training and hanging out with the dog — collide at Surprise Stadium for Bring your dog to the Spring Training Game on Sunday, March 17, 2013 when the Kansas City Royals play the Chicago White Sox at 1:05 pm.
In order to participate in Bring Your Dog to the Ball Park, a registration form must be completed in advance through the mail or by fax.
NO walk-ups will be allowed on event day. Tickets are subject to availability in designated dog location (left field plaza). This does not guarantee a seat to this event. You will be notified by the Ticket Office if your request cannot be fulfilled. Otherwise, your tickets will be available at a special Dog Day Will Call Table located at centerfield starting at 11:30 am on March 17

April 13 — Food Truck8:00 am – 12:00 pm
Here’s a totally cool canine twist on the food-truck craze: Purina Chef Michael’s Food Truck for Dogs
The Food Truck for Dogs will be parked 8 a.m. to noon that day at Gilbert Farmers Market, near the water tower downtown. The truck will give out free dry and wet dog food samples, in flavors like beef short rib, braised brisket and grilled sirloin steak, for hungry pooches.
