Dec. 13 — Yappy Hour — Scottsdale5:30 pm – 8:00 pm
Dress your dog in their holiday best because Santa will be at Yappy Hour for photo opportunities. The most festive dressed will win a special treat filled box of Harry Barker treats, toys and picture frames. Mom or Dad of the winning pet will receive a complimentary bottle of Montelucia wine.

Jan. 6 — Going to the Dogs — Cave Creek8:30 am – 9:30 am
Meet local veterinarian Dr. Steve Grossman, from the Sonoran Foothills Pet Clinic, and his wife Coni, at the Nature Center where they will teach you how to keep your pets safe in the desert and then lead you and your pet on a 4.5 mile hike along the scenic Quartz Trail! Be sure your friendly pets are current with their vaccinations and licenses. Leashes no longer than 6 feet are mandatory. Be sure to bring plenty of water for you and your pet and don’t forget to bring waste bags. (*Please be a responsible pet owner. There is no such thing as a “poop fairy”.)

The Dobson Ranch Association Recreation Department invites you and Fido to this annual event! The event consists of turning Laguna Park into a dog park for a day! This gives Dobson Ranch Residents and their four legged friends the opportunity to get out and enjoy their community park with other fellow residents. Contests will be held during the day for “Best Trick”, “Most Creative Outfit”, and “Dog-Owner look alike”. Also in the works is a mobile grooming, pet adoption truck, and pet related vendors.

Feb. 10 –Pup Strut — Glendale8:00 am – 12:00 pm
Omega Tau Sigma presents the second annual Pup Strut 5K Walk/Run at Midwestern University in Glendale. We welcome runners and walkers of all ages to race alongside their canine companions on this 3.2 mile course. The course is two loops around Midwestern’s campus and avoids Glendale roads to keep all two and four legged racers safe! Race entry price goes up each month and all entries prior to January 8, 2018 will include a T-Shirt, race bib, water and snack for human participants and a Pup Strut dog tag and poop bags for canine racers. We welcome racers to register the morning of the event, however extra shirts and dog tags will be on a first come first serve basis.
All canine racers must be up to date on vaccines and of good temperament. Each human racer may race with up to but no more than two dogs.
Feel free to stick around after the race to check out adoptable dogs from local shelters, and speak with representatives from Hill’s Science Diet Specialists, Nationwide Pet Insurance, Bounce house and more! Feb. 11 — Dine with your Dog — Phoenix10:30 am – 1:00 pm
While dogs are man’s best friend, at Phoenix Children’s Hospital, dogs are also a child’s best friend. Dine With Your Dog, presented by PetSmart Charities, is celebrating its 11th Anniversary with a Champagne Sunday Brunch on February 11, 2018 at Heritage Square in Downtown Phoenix. Guests will get to mingle with fellow animal lovers, explore pet play areas, enjoy a fabulous silent auction, and eat a lovely brunch spread with their furry companions. Proceeds from the event go ‘straight to the dogs’ in support of the PetSmart Charities Paws Can Heal Animal Assisted Therapy program. Therapy dogs help in motivating patients to walk or play, forget their discomfort, and improve their mood and smile.
