Jan. 7 — Beginner’s Dog Hike10:00 am – 11:00 am
Usery Mountain Regional Park Fit dogs are happier, healthier, and display fewer behavioral problems. Tails on Trails will provide the opportunity to meet other dog hikers, learn safe hiking practices and dog trail etiquette. The fun, 1-mile hike along the level Merkle Trail is great for beginner hiker dogs. Please bring a short non-extendable leash, a small cleanup bag, and water for you and your dog. One dog per hiker, please. After completing this hike, you and your dog will be ready for our “Experienced Level” Dog Fitness Hike! Location: Area 6. 10:00 amJan. 7 — Beginner’s Dog Hike

If your idea of a great day enjoying nature involves trail time with your four-legged buddy then you don’t want to miss this clinic. Jamie DeBenedetto, North Valley ExPAWdition Leader with Four Paws Adventures and founder of the Canine Hiking Club of Arizona will be with us to discuss several useful commands every good canine companion should know. She’ll also cover the Traildog 10 Essentials and provide three ways any owner can improve their dog hiking experience.

Feb. 4 — PPAC Adopt-a-thon in Anthem10:00 am – 3:00 pm
The Eighth Annual PACC911/Anthem Animal Extravaganza and Adopt-a-Thon will take place in the Anthem Community Park on Saturday, February 4, between 10:00 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Sponsored by PetSmart Charities©, the event is open to the public.
Over 50 animal rescue organizations will have pets available for adoption, including purebred and mixed-breed dogs and puppies, cats and kittens, bunnies, guinea pigs, rats and even horses. All pets will be spayed/neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations.
